Arden Cross does the blackout properly. Curtains stitched shut, headlamps taped down to slits, the church bell silent since 1940. In a village this careful, everyone has learnt to keep something back: a letter, a name, a reason for being out after dark. The war asks it of them, they would tell you. Then a death changes what the word secret is worth, and the tie between killer and victim turns out to be nothing like what the table assumes.
That is all the file will tell you. The rest arrives on the night, one piece of evidence at a time, and nobody at your table will see the whole of it until the end.
