A murder mystery party is a social dinner game where each guest plays a character at the scene of a crime, and the group works through the evidence to uncover who the killer is. Eight of our cases reopen famous real historical murders, where you examine the scene, question each other, and name the killer the world once tried to. The rest are original fiction. It runs from any screen with private roles sent to each guest's phone, so there is no prep, no printing, and no host experience needed.

Pick a case, add your guests, and we assign each a character with a costume note. Send the invitations, then on the night open your host controls to deal the secret dossiers and play through the evidence to a final accusation. No prep and no acting experience needed.

Every game includes a private character dossier for each guest, a costume guide, a host booklet, and the full case played from the app on any screen, with evidence, clues and the reveal. It is instant and digital.

Most party games run about 2 to 3 hours including dinner and the accusation. The two-player Be the Detective cases run 60 to 90 minutes.

Our party games play best with 6 to 12 guests, and Be the Detective is built for two and also plays solo. Extra guests can join as observers.

Nothing is lost. The room lives on our server rather than on anyone's phone, so a guest who drops off reloads the page, rejoins with the same name, and their character and everything already delivered come straight back. The host screen is the same: reload it and the room is still there. The game does need a connection for the host screen and for each guest's phone, so if your wifi is patchy it is worth having a phone hotspot ready before your guests arrive. If you would rather not depend on a connection at all, every purchase includes the printable pack for your case, which runs the whole night on paper. Eight of them are. The Case Files reopen real historical crimes with real inquests, and you work the real evidence. The War, Christmas and Halloween Files are original fiction set in real periods, written to the same standard but invented from end to end. Every host guide says which kind you are playing.

Yes, and every one of the 26 will. The person your table accuses stands in the dock and your guests become the jury, either straight after the party on the same night or on a second night. The trials are coming soon, released case by case and starting with The Masque at Carfax Hall. The three ways to play page explains each option and what it costs.

Not at the party. If your game goes on to trial, the party stops at the vote and nobody learns who did it until the jury's verdict is in. Then the party's reveal plays, followed by what truly happened for the verdict you gave. That is what keeps the trial a mystery: your table does not know whether it accused the right person.

Jury cases: you sit on the jury of a murder trial, hear the evidence and decide, and learn the truth only after your verdict. There will be 32: six original trials, and the trial of each of the 26 party cases played on its own. They play solo, with eleven AI jurors, or as a group of 6 to 12 in the room. Not yet. A case sells its trial only when that trial is written, checked and playable in the app, and no money is taken for anything that cannot be played. Leave your email on the Jury Duty page and we will tell you when the first one opens.
