Dress the part
A colour for the group and something distinct for the bride works better than matching sashes. Tell people early; half of them will be shopping.

Set the table
Blush and raspberry flowers, coupes rather than flutes, pearls scattered down the table, and one mirrored ball catching the candles. Restraint is the point.

Feed the room
Long afternoon, so graze rather than serve courses: oysters or something cold to start, a proper cake, and water on the table all day.

Host essentials
Send it six to eight weeks ahead if anyone is travelling. Say plainly what it costs and what is included; money surprises are what people remember.
Make it a murder
